III.GUIDE QUESTIONS:
1. Are you aware that we have our own variety of English?
Yes, I am.
2. Which variety do you teach your students?
I teach my students Philippine English so that they may have less difficulty in speaking the English Language. I always believe that teaching the easiest way to my students would make them love the language more.
3. Which variety/ies must be taught?
I prefer teaching Philippine English to make my students love the language more and make things less complicated. Philippines, based on how we speak our native language should also develop the same pronunciation with American English as long as we speak it right and with conviction.
4. Should Philippine English be allowed to flourish?
Yes. We have a very rich culture and adding Philippine English in one of the culture that our country should flourish is something that we must do. We should love our own native tongue and no adaptations are needed if we can have our own.
5. How can this be achieved?
I think this can start through the use of mass media, school and by the government. If these institutions would start moving and acting on the flourishing of Philippine English, everyone would be able to know about it and use it. This can also make our love for both language more.
